Hi guys! The holiday season is almost over and I’ll be able to get back to creating during my time. Between work and shopping and family I haven’t been able to devote time to my passion! Enter the Burdastyle Crossover pants!
I actually had a pair of these that I brought from Nordstrom last year but had to return because the fabric was cheap Soooo I whipped these DIY pants up last week right before traveling home for the holidays. Overall, the pattern is pretty easy to follow. They do however, have a video tutorial you can purchase to help with construction for $20. Normally I would say skip the video but the instructor in this case does give some pretty great tips and tricks. It is especially useful if you want to learn a new way of constructing in-seam pockets, sewing in the ditch and stretching and easing your seams.
The only downside about the pattern is that it is drafted as a tall pattern. Which means you have to be very careful when choosing your correct size. I wanted a slouchier look so I chose one size larger and added extra pleats in the waist to fit as a high-waisted trouser. I will make this pattern again but next time I think I will play with the fabric as the fabric I chose may be just a bit too heavy. I used a crepe blend and believe it or not it’s kind of bulky with the added layer of crossover fabric.
But, alas here’s the finished product! I can’t wait to wear these to work!!
