Hi guys! So I have made the decision to not only post on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays but to also do a series which will be covered every Monday in which I will choose a really hard and difficult DIY project and complete it during the entire month. I’ll write about it on Mondays by posting my progress, pictures of the steps and things I’ve learned along the way. As you know the purpose of this blog is to follow me on my journey as I start my handmade business so I figure writing about the harder projects and explaining the problems I’m experiencing and how I’ve overcome them would be perfect material for the blog.
I do want to make one thing clear though…this will not be a sew-a-long or bead-a-long etc. The purpose of my blog is to give my readers advice and insight into my DIY/Handmade struggles but not necessarily teach them how to sew or bead or solder metal. I of course will link to any and all tutorials and books I use as I do want my readers to learn the techniques; I just won’t necessarily be the one to teach you guys Anyway, onto this month’s project! I’m not sure if you’re aware but I’m seeing A LOT of flare leg jeans and trousers again and I am in love!! I’ve been wearing my high waisted flares since 2011 and they’ve been a staple in my wardrobe ever since.
Here’s my inspiration:
As you can see they can be dressed up or dressed down, they are perfect for fall and winter, and they look good on almost anyone. What more can you ask for?! The shape alone is great because they lengthen you and make you appear taller which in turn makes you look slimmer and if you pair them with a oversized top or fur vest….oh man! Can you tell I’m excited and in love?? Like I mentioned before, I already have a pair of high waisted flare leg jeans that I got from Urban Outfitters for $5 on sale. They’ve been the best purchase ever. But making jeans has always intimidated me so I will be using some tutorials from Craftsy to help me copy the jeans I already have. BTW – if you don’t know about they have some of the best online craft classes I’ve ever taken and they are currently having a black Friday sale.
OK…..enough about the project. Let’s get started!! If you have a project that you’re working on this month, join in! Let’s do this and learn together!!
